Weihnachtsmarkt + Cookie Baking
If you thought that you need to be living downtown to have a Weihnachtsmarkt happening in your backyard, you were wrong; and if you thought that you have to be German to understand what it is all about, you were twice as wrong. This Saturday, 8th of December, brought us all proofs of just the opposite.
The long awaited, heavily advertised floor-rep organized Mercator Weihnachtsmarkt started in the common room with a Christmas play, in which some of our fellow Mercatorians impersonated different Christmas characters from all around the world - just enough to take us into the mood for the second part of the event. The College Office was transformed into a bakery and under the sweet aroma of Glühwein the brave wannabe-cookers created their own Christmas cookies - which, of course, disappeared into the hungry tummies of the Mercatorians just minutes after taken out of the oven. A re-play of the Christmas play, dictated by its surprising even for the actors success, concluded the last Christmas event of Mercator before the Christmas Eve itself.
